The future of journalists....

Is there a future for journalists and the journalism industry? There best had be is all i can say. Studying a journalism degree for 3 years then not being able to get a job does not sound good to me.

People seem to think the industry is dying down, and part of me agrees, because the rate technolgy is going, computers will be doing all the work for us! Online journalism is starting to take over print journalism, but television and the internet have been around for a long time now, so surely if newspaapers were going to go out of fashion, they would have done by now?

Even if watching television or listening to the radio, or going online, there will always be the older generation who will still pick up their newspaper everyday!

Newspapers can even just be read online these days which obviously means people don't buy as many. Reading newspapers online however does not give the same impression as actually picking it up and reading it for yourself.

Despite all this, I am choosing to do print journalism instead of broadcast when i progress to second year. I have said this from the start and nothing will change my mind =D .
